July 2008 Hymotion Hybrid technologies, in conjunction with the Denny Hecker Automotive Group and the Minneapolis Mayor's Office, are introducing an installation kit that will allow hybrid Prius models to get up to 100 mpg or better! The technology, called Plug-in Conversion Modules (PCMs), enables a Prius to run solely on electricity for 40 miles of driving. After 40 miles, the vehicle seemlessly transfers function back to that of a standard hybrid until it is plugged in and recharged. This combination allows the driver to achieve better than 100 mpg fuel economy!
Hymotion is now offering a Prius PCM called the L5 that can be installed locally by the Denny Hecker Automotive Group in Inver Grove Heights.
